ABOUT
Having been confronted with illness and finding myself no longer able to function as I once did, I came to a crossroads in my life to either take medication for the rest of my life or to heal. Choosing the healing pathway has led me to a new way of being – where I think and do things differently. This new way of being has given me the freedom and choices which has helped shape more loving relationships with friends and family, and a more balanced and calmer way of being, meaning significantly less stress, greater happiness and the freedom to follow my heart and purpose.
Through my own experience I have an in depth understanding of the challenges, the highs and lows faced with healing. Having one on one support provided the much-needed encouragement for me to keep moving forwards. But it was the guidance I received that led to the discovery of insights and awareness that I am truly grateful for. It was this wonderful support and guidance that then led me to become a counsellor so that I could offer guidance to others.
Tools I use in the healing process
Our ability to listen to each other has long been a practice of ancient times in healing. We see this even in our day to day lives where we can offer our friends and family a kind and supportive ear to their problems and worries. The skill of deep listening continues to be an important process in the world of healing. It is here that we can elevate the energy to help lift or release negative emotions out of our body and out of our lives. The art of deep listening comes with practice so that judgement does not have a place. However it takes an experienced practitioner to be able to hold this space without judgement. By way of experience refers to having done the work within themselves so that judgement is truly no longer part of the process. The process of deep listening becomes only a place of love, support and discovery. My own healing journey and work has meant that my ability to hold space without judgement is not only refined but also very much in a place of understanding. This aim to understand a persons feelings or situation means the process is solely focused on being fully present to help meet all the needs of the client. The process of deep listening also provides the optimum healing space to then allow people to step into their own power as opposed to a heavy reliance on others. This is an essential element to healing as empowerment ensures we not only fully develop healthy life long skills and behaviours but our achievements have been gained from a place that is within us and hence is more right for us.
Meditation is a beautiful way to find a place where we can come back to home, a place of comfort, support and kindness. Meditation has many different purposes along the healing path, it may change its purpose depending on what aspect or element is being healed or focused on. Sometimes meditation in the form of healing can be all that is needed at a certain time, whilst other times meditation can give us the space and place we need for rest and recouperation. Having a wide variety of uses makes meditation a wonderful tool to use in healing. It is where some of the most profound aspects we learn about ourselves happen. It is hoped everyone brings the practice of meditation into their lives even if it is just a small or minor part of their day. Working with me, as a trained meditation teacher, provides a supportive and individualised approach to starting to meditate as well as to develop some more sophisticated uses of meditation to aid healing. My ability to channel healing energy into meditations through the aid of my spirit guides means the creation of specific healing meditations that place direct focus on the aspect that needs healing. It is this specific ability that allows my meditations to enhance and compliment the healing process. These meditations are take home tools for your continued use.
Dreaming has the potential to play a vast and deep role in the healing process. With the practice of dream work, skills are learnt in how to recognise and move through what it is, a dream is giving. Dream work shows how we can use dreams to listen to messages and guidance that can help in our waking life. Dreams can help us in situations we may be experiencing like a relationship, it can guide us on a move we may need to take and it can help us in our healing journey showing us the aspects that need healing or are ready to heal. It can also assist people to reach out and be in touch with their loved ones who have passed away, giving them guidance or assisting them move through their grief. It can also be a place where we remember who we are and what it is we are meant to be doing in this life we are living today. It can also assist people to dive deep into any old emotional wounds that may be causing them havoc in their day to day lives - helping to relieve their symptoms or blocks they may be experiencing. And finally, it can be a way to tap into the unknown - maybe learn and see what else exists out there apart from what we see in our current reality This may seem weird at first but can be a magnificent way to learn about our universe and all it has to offer. As a dream teacher and a strong advocate in aiding the healing process I assist people in working with dreams through the many and wonderful ways dreams can be used. With my guidance and practice dream work can become a life long practice that will continue to provide assistance throughout a persons life.
